Have a Voice , Make a Choice

16th loksabha elections are on the threshold. Voting of first phase is already took place in some parts of the Nation. Still voting campaigns are running everywhere to aware the citizens of India. One question is annoying my mind that why such campaigns are necessary?
On one side we are flaunting as world's largest democracy and on the other side we are still busy in convincing the people for voting. Major part of our society still thinks that Voting is just a formality or national holiday for picnic. Unfortunately, Surprisingly percentage of literate citizen is more in such cases who constantly criticises of country and blame our government for everything.
The success of democracy and formation of responsible government is directly dependent on the voting power of the citizens. Adult Franchise of India amended and reduced the age of voting from 21 to 18. It made provision for more youths to exercise their votes in election. Voting is tool for the change, it is your right, it is your power, it shows your participation in the process of democracy, it is your representation in parliament, and it is your expression.
Often we heard the reckless remarks by some ‘Voters’ that in the country of 120 crore people, there is no value of my single vote but this is totally insane remark because every vote matters. At the end, it is only the voter who has to suffer through poor governance. We have to understand that, the whole edifice of Indian democracy is built on the foundation of voting. If citizens are not careful about casting their vote, or worse, skip their vote altogether, it will jeopardize the existence of our democratic Republic.
Indeed, it is true that the outcome of elections is never predictable, by not casting one's vote, that citizen is giving up on the chance of getting heard. There are some drawbacks in our system, elections are notorious for the malpractices, hooliganism and medium of converting black money to white but the voter’s apathy is allowing such corrupt candidates to continue their looting.
Everyone has heard a famous dialogue from the film “Rang De Basanti” “koi bhi desh perfect nahi hota, use perfect banana padata hai” so; voting is nothing but one step ahead towards perfection. If you love your nation then go for voting.
